Hill Country Wound Care and Hyperbarics is seeking a professional, organized, and compassionate Front Desk Receptionist to serve as the first point of contact for patients and visitors, ensuring a welcoming environment and the smooth operation of front office functions.
About the Role
As the first point of contact for patients and visitors, the Front Desk Receptionist plays a critical role in ensuring a welcoming environment and the smooth operation of front office functions. You'll work closely with clinical staff across our three Greater San Antonio clinic locations to maintain efficient patient flow and a compassionate care experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet patients and visitors with professionalism and courtesy.
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes, ensuring accurate documentation.
- Answer and direct phone calls, take messages, and provide information as appropriate.
- Schedule patient appointments, referrals, and follow-ups in the electronic health record (EHR).
- Verify patient insurance information and collect co-payments or balances.
- Coordinate with clinical staff to maintain efficient patient flow.
- Handle incoming and outgoing faxes, mail, and correspondence.
- Maintain confidentiality of patient information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Support daily office operations to ensure a professional and organized front desk area.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
- Prior experience as a medical receptionist or in a healthcare setting strongly preferred.
- Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and scheduling software.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a focus on patient service.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of insurance verification and medical office procedures preferred.
